As my #1 engine was still in pieces, I put #2 in the frame. Knutstorp is a very technical track with not so long straights, so I hoped to manage with the lower power. Friday included one free practice and the first qualify. At the qualify things started to fall into place and I was feeling comfortable with the pace. I set the best time, 2 seconds ahead of number 2! Thats a lot on this short track. On Saturday we started with the second qualify and I managed to perform 0,6 s faster, which led to pole position. I took the start in the race and just pushed as much as I dared the whole race through. I crossed the finish line after 10 laps, 13 sec before #2!
Sunday started with a free practice. The tarmac was cold and the rear end slipped some. I thought nothing of it and just had fun. I started a little bit slower this time and came off the grid as #3. With "determination" I reclaimed the first position into the first bend. I held first place 2-3 laps, when suddenly I was out braked after the straight. OK. I will not give up without a fight, so the let the battle begin! We change places 4-5 times until lap 8, when I pulled my act together. The rear wheel was playing tricks on my every other bend, so I really had to focus. With one lap to go, I took a defensive line after the straight and as no front wheel was showing up on either side of me, I was feeling more hopeful about the outcome. I got the checkered flag first of all!
I happy to have given the spectators some entertainment and put a Husaberg on top in both races.
