The last weeks before the race the preps were extensive. The frame was in two pieces, cooler, lower fork brace, engine brackets and everything else stickin out, was damaged. A lot of late nights in the workshop was required to make the finals possible. I had a slight chance of winning the cup (17p up), and I was going to do my best getting there.

After I highsided at the last races at Linköping http://www.uglybuglyracing.no/gallerisviestad2007a.htm
(scroll down to Supermono) it was good news to get 2nd place on the grid! I took the lead after the first turn, but I had decided to take limited risks. Out on the last lap I was 3rd with the guy leading the cup behind me. Three turns before the finish, the main bearings seized!   Exit! Let's say my mind was "clouded"... Now I had to focus on defending my 2nd position in the cup instead. I moved over my billet cylinder head to the spare engine and mounted it, late Saturday night.

The whole Sunday, until the races, I spent checking everything! I just had to make it to the finish, this time. After a lot of work I was ready for the race. I took the start again, but was passed early by 2 guys. If I finished 5th, I would be safe no matter what. So I pulled myself together and calmed down, settling with what was required - and it worked!

So now the season has been completed and I took myself and Husaberg to the total 2nd place in the Nordic Supermono Cup! I would like to thank my sponsors for their devoted contributions:
Topplocksverkstan - Making my engine the strongest 650 on the planet?
Mossbergs Mekaniska - CNC-milling what no-one else even dares to try
Keva Motor - Husaberg spare parts on the shelf and allways prompt delivery

I would also like to send a special thanks to my family and close ones for all support and tolerance.

I wonder what it takes to impress the Husaberg racing department?

well done

just as well you had a spare motor ...
Thanks, Whosahberg!
When the mains seized, the crank damaged the ignition stator. I didn´t have a spare stator, so I was lucky a fellow racer lended me his. Unfortunately high tuned Husaberg engines tend to require a backup plan...
