hey guys,,

Got 05 450 and just wondering what the best way is to check the condition of the timing chain?

I seem to have developed a rattling noise at medium rpm

bike has 1600km's on it

Could it also be the primary drive nut?

not sure if im just worrying as motor has always been noisy since new.

hey where ya bin hidin ?

remove header, remove the bolt that fits into the tensioner , remove the spring .

remove the 2 bolts that hold the tensioner in place , then remove the tensioner and see how far the rod has extended .

then be prepared for a shock as you realise that it has extended nearly all the way !!!

easy innit 8)

would the timing chain be covered under warranty?

what is the best sealing compound to use were the headers bolt to the head as it looks like its got some sealent there?

and what if it is extended all the way out?

Seems early for a cam chain, check that primary nut.Was the recall done?

primary drive nut torque check and starter clutch if memory serves.Only on certain 05 vin #'s

ThreeBond is the best sealant around!!
Would think its too early for a chain? So it could be the nut?
