Re: bypass key wires came out in a crash

I hooked it up still no spark. Tested my stator witch was new before the winter season. Tested good
Could it be the cdi
Any new ideas would be great

Re: bypass key wires came out in a crash

I would connect orange to brown and red/white to black/red instead.

If you check the electrical drawings for the -03 model you can see how the ignition key is hooked up inside, colors are not exactly the same but you'll get the picture when you compare the -01 to the -03 drawings.

Just tried that configuration and still no spark anyone know how to test cdi

Re: bypass key wires came out in a crash

all the key switch does is ground the orange wire when the switch is off. orange goes to the ignition module. brown is ground. if you are testing for spark, just disconnect the orange. r/w goes to the regulator/ rectifier.

Re: bypass key wires came out in a crash

i have a bigger issue than the key. i have no spark at all. the stator test out perfect there is power 12v at the orange wire.there is a grey wire that is coming out of the ignition module going to starter hi /low switch on the bars. i have an 01 husaberg fe650 (this is the one with the problem) and an 02husaberg fe 650 ( this one runs perfect).

the 01 bike has 4.80 volts at that grey wire. the 02 has 0volts. could this mean the is a problem in the IGN. module could this be grounding out the ign. system

both bikes were tested with the switch in the high position

this bike is the one with the problem only a few days left to ride the snow.

the gray wire is just for the hi-lo and can be left disconnected to run in hi. if connected and the switch is in lo, it is grounded.
test for spark with orange disconnected. pull the plug cap off the wire and check it for resistance. should not be open circuit.
if still no spark (do it in the dark), swap the coil from the '02.

Stator again funny both of the stators that have gone out on this bike have tested.good. looks like ill be shippinh this one to taffy
