99 FE400 E with a blown up engine, so in my determination to get the thing up and going again, Ive bought a second hand non-e-start 600 of the same year.
Quick question - and apologies if this has been answered (cos I'm confused by the talk of capacitors/non capacitors etc) but as it no longer has the e-start, is it as simple as removing the battery and e-start relay and associated wiring? and connecting the earth wire back to the frame or do I need to buy anything extra like a capacitor mentioned in some threads?
Also I appear to have a rectifier regulator and a regular separately. The latter only appears to feed the horn and isnt on the wiring diagram? Also there are three yellows on the rectifier (one taped back) - does it matter which one goes to the blue from the stator?
Finally, I'm assuming from a lot of reading of this site that the coil etc is the same too? Is that true?
Would be nice to fix the beast while there's still some summer left....
Cheers in anticipation
