Hi everyone ive been offered a 98 fe501 for a mk1 golf gti project i have.but ive never had anything to do with husaberg.ive got a 86 gsxr 7/11 streetfighter.

Anyway the bike is road legal but he says its hard to start and needs the shims setting does this sound right are they any good thought it would be ok to go to work on
Many tanks russ

hard to start could mean a lot of things. start reading the poor starting section of the owner's doc on the home page.
keep in mind it is a 15 yr old race bike with a problematic ignition system.
where are you located?

Or it could be an easy fix, that motor doesn't have shims, it has the screw adjusters.

it is best you know that you'll need to be a handy mechanic to get these bikes running right when they get to this age.

if it is one of a few in a backyard in sheffield don't touch it.

they are a beautiful bike but need a lot of work. put it this way: if he says he's spent a grand then you'll get awy with 500. if he hasn't spent a penny then the sheyit is pulling up at the door and you'll be given a bucket....

regards

Taffy
