Hi in a moment of madness or guinius i bought a Fc501 crosser 2000 model with a full lightin kit i have an xr600 and do a lot of off-roading.Have i brought myself a lot of stress or iam i going to have a love affair with the bike i can live with the maintainance schedule. Are they a reliable bike and what do i need to look out for.I hope to to get an MOT next week then take the relevent paperwork to the local dvla then fingers crossed off i go.The one thing i do know it feels like a push bike compared to the xr just can`t wait to ride the thing
Cheers Ade

you probably have bought a shed load of work (not the same a s trouble) so get ready to upgrade the bike.

is it registered already coz iif it isn't i would weep....

Hi from the midlands yes was on evil bay no its not registered at the moment i have a piece of paper from husaberg with frame and engine numbers to that bike. The local dvla told me get An mot on the chassis number and insure it on the chassis number and that was it and hand over the money .Sounds to easy don`t it thenagain i do like a lot of stress according to my missus.

they will tell you that it needs type a[pproval to which you should reply that it has over 300mm ground clearance and is a competition machine. and don't forget that once you're in you will have to SORN it if you don't renew: just like everyone else!

Hi Ade i had the same reservations as you when i bought my bike (but i did by a regitered one) but so far i can't fault it. i know what you mean by it feeling like a push bike, i came to it off an XR as well but the bike makes me feel like a better rider already, it's just a shame so many people slag these bikes off, hope you enjoy the experience i am.

Progress so far had a mot on the chassis number yesterday and she passed/got it insured on the chassis number took me forms and documents and my dating letter from Husaberg.Women at my local dvla seemed helpful i just need to wait a few day or so i might have to have it looked at but she did say if it was a proper off road bike it wont need type approvaland by the way give me 97 of you english pounds aswell.Just waiting to see how many hoops they want me to jump through she did say they have a list of off road bikes motor cross and enjuro ann if it on the list there should be no problem unlees you guys know different.B y the way geat site some good info and good sense of humor
Cheers Ade

Not yet they told me three working days so that will be monday but they may want to see the bike. The women said what Taffy put earlier if it has more than 300mm clearance i dont need type approval also if it is on there list of off-road bikes there should be no problem? I feel like an expectant farther at the moment will keep you informed
cheers Ade

bunch of nazis the lot of them. anyone who bases law around phucking it for all just to catch a couple of thieves doesn't get my vote!

same wherever you go, a big money making machine!

they wnat me to go to a 'Q' plate just coz i have a used frame that was never used new, was sold to me by the importer w/o ever being used. i have full documentation but NO!!!! 'Q' plate! so what i have decided to do is put the 400 engine back in the original frame and leave as was. in the meantime, the new frame will get the new engine when ever it comes and just be a pure racer.

i have spare everything except forks and that won't take much!

i think i would be the same if the result hadnt gone my way ,you do seem to have to jump through hoops for this lot.Hope you get it sorted
