Hey everyone. I am a new owner of a 2004 Husaberg FE450. Just bought it Sunday and have not had a chance yet to go out and put it through it's paces. I am excited to get it out there and see what she can do. I have heard a lot of good things about the bike so thought I would go out and get one and see for myself what all the hype is about.

I have it's bigger brother the FE 550 and a 390 your going to love how they go through the trails make sure you go over the bike making sure all the fasteners are tight oil changed
Filter chain sprockets , get someone to help you set up the sag on your suspension makes a huge difference

Berg on

Thanks for the reply. I am in the process of going through the bike and have found the e start not working properly, hard to kick over manually and leaking a bit of oil. From where has yet to be determined. Other than that everything looks good. Rides great and has plenty of power. I can't wait to get it out on the trail and see how it measures up to my old XR400 which was a beast.

Tourist,
What do you mean "in for a treat"?? Trying to find the oil leak or actually riding the bike?

your lucky that one of the most outstanding members of this community is from your patch. Ken (Berger). also our old french chum superfrog was from Mesa and so was the guy that collected me on our firsat FR1.

outstanding!

You will be surprised, you cannot compare a XR400 with a Husaberg FE450.
The Husa will eat the XR:grab:

Thanks Tourist. I am sure I will love it as much as all of you guys.
And Taffy, I glad to see I got on your good side right away. I read a couple other threads and you tore a couple guys up. Thanks for the advice given and in advance for any further advice I will need. Happy to be part of Husaberg nation.

Ha ha, eat the XR! When i first got my 99 FE400 i was so happy that i could roost away from my mates WR450 with reletive ease! I have been hooked on bergs ever since! If you get the chance to throw a leg over an early 600 or 650 you will be in for a real treat!!!!!!

So I found my oil leak. Appears to be coming from the lower forward area of the case right at the seam. I looked around here but only found the same issue with a 650. Would this be the same as my 450? I also found my engine breather hose has a split in it and lots of oil up in the hose between the airbox and carb. Cleaned all that out but don't know why it was there. Is this normal? If anyone has a fix for the oil leaking from the case half short of splitting the case I would appreciate it.
