New Stator, No Spark

Just received an upgraded stator from Taffy and installed it, and get no juice. I have stripped it down to the plug from stator wires to the coil, ground for the coil, and spark plug lead. No spark. The R-B ohms are only 2600, is this possibly the problem, or am I looking at a bad coil? What exactly does low resistance from red to black mean? Will this stator go out soon just like the others?
