Good morning. I am pleased to join this forum of exotic bike enthusiasts. A little history about myself, I have been riding off road motorcycles for more than 33 years. I am currently a "B" rider for district 36. I have owned many bikes over my tenure but have been fascinated to four stroke bikes early on. My first four stroke race bike was a 1989 KTM LC4 600, after a few two stokes. However, I was enchanted by the introduction of ATK's. I have had the following ATK's:

1990 604 ESMXFI
1994 350 ESCC
1995 605 ESCC

I currently have the following ATK's:
1996 605 ESDS
1997 605 ESCC

Now I am a proud owner of the 2009 FE570.

I did enjoy the technology, or primitive technology, of the EFI ATK installed on my 1990 604. It was an eye opener! The system would aspirate perfectly and you could not unintentionally stall the motor. However, when it broke, you were dead. As a result of poor attention to detail, several DNF's, and possibly the technology of the time, I ended up replacing the system with the original carburetor.

Although the system was flawed, I never forgot how well the bike ran when the system was not broken. That brings me to the present. Not wanting to fuss with jetting as I age gracefully, Husaberg came out with the most advanced closed loop EFI system ever produced on a full blown dirt bike, at least to my knowledge. My first ride on this very agile but powerfully tame bike, was impressionable, to say the least! This bike is a flawless but calculated piece of engineering. I'm hooked!

Although I don't have much time on the bike, I look forward to seeing just how much better the bike will handle once I have dialed it in. Fortunately, my coworker has been riding Husabergs for years now and knows some of the quirks that Husabergs tend to demonstrate. I should have the bike broke in and dialed in by mid next week in preparation for the Hollister national hare scrambles on March 22nd.

I look forward to discussing the new and older Husabergs with all of you.

Thanks,
