Hey schwim, does Goran get an award for the most pics posted in one thread? All those pics definitely got my interest up for sure! Good job Goran, you will be getting a call from my ol'lady...P.S. she's mad. LOL. I am liking this new design, it is about time somebody is trying something truly innovative without being over the top about it. Look at it this way, KTM can try a new design without hurting the KTM name if it doesn't work, then if it is a success they can take all the credit, if not, then those crazy Swedes have F'd it up again and they can justify shutting down the Berg line. Oops, gotta go, the nice lady is here with my paranoia meds...later Bill

Nice work mate. That puts an end to lots of speculation.

Me thinks you might've nailed that point.
Lets just hope reliability and performance is good. Maybe see more yellow ...oh I mean blue....in the bush.
They look great.

Thanks guys.

Just a couple more details I noticed there:

Blue rims - Morad (spanish?), not Excel as stated in tech. spec.
Handlebars - Renthal, not Magura SX as usual (but default on KTM SX, right?)
Grips - Renthal also, not Domino with Husaberg logo.

Few pavillions further, I spent more then 15 minutes in very pleasant conversation with a very "iconic" (is this a word?) person.
Somebody recognizes him?

big bob

expect the bike to be very light and flickable due to the new balance making it feel that way, i would expect that the balance will be heavily on the front wheel with a long swingarm.

expect the gear ratios to be identical to the old gearbox - after all they've had that box for over ten years!

I`m not 100% sure about that. Secondary transmision on demo bike was 13-52, which is very EXC like!

Well, 340 odd posts and just about a week since release..

when I first saw it, I thought it was a baby that only its creator could love, in fact i thought it was ugly - so far from convention.

given time, the appearance has grown on me somewhat, there are amny points that specifically show ingenuity, the only thing that I would have done to make it more palatable would have been to have a more conventional downtube / engine cradle arrangement, with the battery (of whatever kind) tucked in the front of the starter motor, under the cyl (that is assuming it has a battery which it MUST), and all protected with a kevlar / carbin fibre / alloy bash / skid plate.

oh and a blue metallic frame - the rest is prettly awesome, though I think its appearance will polarise opinion.

WOW, I spend the last 2 weeks working 13 hour days hiking in the woods and miss the big news. Love the bike...gota start saving my pennies now! Motorcycle daily has an article about the bike. It's nice to see Husaberg getting some press. Now I'm off to sort all the pics I just downloaded...

This bike also has me intrigued.

Thanks everyone for all the posts and contributions of photos/info!

Lighter feeling? WOW. That's the mark of our Husabergs as they are now. well that's because they are so light too. Even lighter feeling? bitchen.

I bet that 565 is cat's meow. The Big horse in a saber light package.

The Fe450e will be like a F-16 and the Fe565e wil be the Air Superiorty Fighting Eagle F-15 dual engine burning thruster mama! :eek:ccasion1: H-berg

lads

i hate to say it but husaberg clearly aren't asking a regular dealer what he needs in his range, what he needs to sell bikes. who his customers are and what do they need.

will dealers here speak up and i trust back me?

i spent 6 years selling used cars and it was vital, vital that i had a car for evetyone, every occasion, everyone's purse!

so where the PHUQING HELL is the 250? i mean, it's alright saying that husaberg is a niche market but when you are in the sticks you're customers are local to you. they aren't niche - they're local!!!!! so you have to have something for everyone - right?

so where is the 250/300/350?

i mean even a 350 version of the 450 would be fine!

husaberg WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

WHEN A MAN WALKS IN THE SHOP AND SAYS "I'M NEW TO OFF-ROADING - HE NEEDS A BIKE THAT YOU CAN SELL HIM HONESTLY!

you've all seeb the test of the 380 husaberg here in the UK right?

here it is

they WANT a 380! it fills the gap between the 250 and the 450. it's the only bloody bike out there"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so what do you say that we here at UHE put it to a vote?

if we have a questionnaire that we can put out?

then tell the factory!!!!!!!

i ask for your support in this matter.

regards

Taffy

Taffy,
i can follow your thoughts, but pls.don´t forget: husaberg is only a KTM-brand...
The way I see it, is that KTM was buying Husabergs (engine)Know-how to develop(?) their 4t-EXC model range,
the new 250 KTM (4t) is virtually a Husaberg...(the swedish think-tank!)
but as production moved to Austria; why should KTM "close" a production line to produce a Husaberg?Or 2 Husaberg model-lines?
As long as KTM had full order-books, why should they cannibalise their Dealernetwork?
Now they do have a new Generation of 4-strokes, it´s about time to bring a new H-berg...

I also disagree that a Husaberg is Beginner-bike - they do have other customers in their focus.

But I´m also missing a smaller displacement berg

Hi taffy,
There is no question that Husaberg does not have a bike for every corner of the market.I really do not think they expect to anytime in the near future. They are focused on the Enduro market and Supermoto for the experienced rider.
I quess we need to talk about what or who is the "regular dealer".Here a regular dealer is one that has a major Japanese line or two. Then depending on the dealers geographical make up and personel intrest may have a specialty line so he can offer something highend or different to those that would like to try something more specialized.
Other dealers who may offer a specialty line who do not have a Japanese brand would have to have a very successful P@A business to support such an endeavour.
Having said that, the solution is quite simple and available if KTM so choose to make a Husaberg franchise viable in its own right.
KTM have way too many models for most dealers to even pretend to stock and support. If i was running KTM(and I don't expect to anytime soon) I would divide up the range between Husaberg and KTM.The specifics of this woukld be debated endlessly but it could be done.

Expect the gear ratios to be identical to the old gearbox - after all they've had that box for over ten years!

Correction: The Berg tranny ratios are the same back to the redesigned 2001 model. Bikes previous to 2001 had even wider tranny ratios, more in line with the older Husky's.

i've read it here that the pre 2Ks had the same box ratios from about '96. if your info is better than mine - that's great!

regards

Taffy
