I think is very similar to KTM EC4 the engine who uses a new KTM EXC450 R

cilinder, cilinder head and inyection are the same they probably change some config but the engine really similar, the bore and stroke are identical

New logo isn't quite spot on, but I had to recreate it using Illustrator from a tiny jpg.

Enjoy.

Concerning the '09 model I didn't form an opinion yet...
Many interesting new features
I wonder what the plans for SM models are (if any) :?

Just noticed that it's time to change my avatar

Well, if you really have to ask ...

Regarding SM models, do not change your avatar 8)

For 2009: existing model but with EFI (because of Euro 3), new graphics and maybe few goodies extra - kind of a "edizione finale"

For 2010: new SuperMoto with KTM SM690 engine and H-berg chasis. This will _not_ be race bike. Kinda soft SM for every day. No info yet about SM with 70degree engine.

Cheers, Goran

Ride with 2 guys that own KTMs. One a 520 and the other a 525. Both were bought new and are EXC models. Have yet to see either one of the use their kick start. I'm not worried too much about the lack of one.

the complete bike is beautiful no doubt they kept

the secret in all off the development of the bike, I am glad that my friend from motoaltavista told me a lot of thing that now we know are for real, like the engine and that it was going to be efi.

Just one thing I don´t like is the weight, the should cut much more, is almost the same as the ktm or the same.

I love the handle beneath the seat, It really helps whenever you need to lift your bike, Ktm, does not have any place to pick it up, just from the exhaust!!!

Well I hope in the official web site give us some feedback and more info, I would love to have one!!!

Cheers

Ricardo

RE: the complete bike is beautiful no doubt they kept

It's obvious that this brand is for a totally different demographic than the other ones, when all we care about is the engine. Nobody complained about the fact that there was less room for cool schnitzit graphix yo.

Goran, did they confirm that they would launch a Husa with 690-engine?? This would truly be a dreambike. Around 120kg and 500km service intervals, what a gravel rocket! Wouldn't like it as an SM though.

Anyway, put my order in for a 565 today, can't get it out of my mind.. :)

Ricardo

Not only beneath the seat, but there are handles beneath the rear fender also!

Look here!

Goran !!!

You have to tell us more about the 'FS650EFI' for 2009 and the 'FS690' for 2010 that you mentioned earlier. Now, emidiately, pronto, right away, omedelbums...

Who told you? What, more detailed, did they (him/her) say?

By the way I spoke on the phone with one of the guys who were there for the unveiling. Asked him if he had ridden the new bike. He had only ridden one of the early prototypes and he said it feels like riding a 125 compared to the normal bike. 'Aren't you exagurating this a bit now' Iasked. The response was 'I agree it sounds a bit much but I'm telling you the truth'. The new bike will be a blast...

The new engine actually don't move the CoG at all (not noticable anyway) in any direction. The BIG difference is that the big rotating mass (crank) is moved 160mm closer to the overall CoG of the bike. Hope I haven't told to much now... :?

That's exactly what I was thinking. That has to make a huge difference putting all that right between your calves!

Err ... calm down ... take a deep breath ... everything will be OK ...

Who told me? I already told too much ...
Info from friendly chat with a fellow in blue shirt with a nicely sharpened logotype.
He also told me that new branded apparel wont be available before official bike release, which should be somewhere late 08. Sounded strange to me - now when new bike is exhibited - but he insisted on this date.
By pure accident, he rides big FS - just like myself - so we ... blah blah blah

Just as I had suspected (and hoped for) Husaberg is once again changing the rules by putting the 250 2T in their sight as the bikes to beat. Image it, the handling of a 250 2T mx bike, with 450 4T power/torque/hookup. Back ~1985 (as Husqvarna) and then moreso in 1989 (as the original Hbg 501), the boys are making a bike that is not made to be just a slightly better 4T, they are raising the bar for all bikes, and doing by making a bike that excels at nasty enduro conditions AND can go fast.

Rejoice, rejoice!!

As good as the new Berg has the potential to be, I still see a bike that is around 10 kgs heavier than the 2 strokes though??

A bit hard to put the 250 2ts in your sights with a 10kg weight disadvantage maybe??

yes but it isn't a 250 either is it?

i say that after OPENLY testing for a season or two, they will have a chassis that maybe doesn't break new ground but which allows the bike to do things unimaginable before with a conventional engine. now that would be special!

seeing Taffy and all the Husaberg.org motorcyclists here all excited with the new 2009 Husaberg, and that big change has come as promised is worth the price of admission.

I only have one question. How do you find top dead center on the new bike? at least I only have to raise the rear wheel to get the pencil out. :p

awesome bike, I assume it's shorter, I like taller, but it looks like a great package. I wonder if the seating position is up front? are the pegs more up front like todays berg that give you the berg little red wagon seating position, right in the swing set position as I call it?

or will the whole seating/ berg ride now be different? I suspect so. Love that frame.

Next year I'll go out to MotoXotica and sit on one, If I like the feel I'll buy it. With the dollar down prices will be UP!!! maybe $9500 OTD for this bike I figure. The Only question is do I get the 450 or the 565? will they call it a 580? That's alot of bike. Me thinks yeah the 450 is for me and my NorCal open woods. What about the bore stroke..is this new generation a short stroke revy design? wide ratio tranny again I presume will it be so TAll that slow old riders like me never get into 5th and 6th like now on my 550, or will the tranny be a little more closer, more trail/enduro oriented.........

Hmmm lots of questions for new buyer and come next year KTM will be all new and different again like they are each year...and Husky too, but no one will be like this 70 berg. Yup I see a Blue Berg in my future.

oh yeah, I hereby copyright me new avatar! I move fast boys, try to keep up.. :gotglitter: :givemea: :eek:ccasion9:
