Hiya
New here; here's an introduction, for what it's worth.
I finally got a motorcycle last summer - a nice, clean 2007 Suzuki DR-Z400S. Best idea I ever had. Bought it for myself as a reward for some hard work during the last years. I have some amazing memories from last summer's trail rides here in the Icelandic highlands.
Motorcycling is a terrible affliction ... Obsession is not new to me, but I got the bike bug pretty serious. Been reading a lot on what is the DR-Z replacement in spirit - and it really does seem like it's the 70 degree Husabergs. Torquey, light, reliable, go everywhere, wide-range 6 gear box. Seems perfect.
The DR-Z isn't a modern design. I don't really notice most of the flaws it is considered to have - a bit top-heavy and perhaps not sluggish but less nimble than modern bikes. I'm no big fan of the gearbox though - they really need a little wider ratios and a 6th gear. The '09-'12 Husaberg design seems pretty clever ...
So ... I committed to a decision a few days ago: Going to do my best to get a 70-degree Husaberg next year. So here we are ... Hi everybody!
