Just wanting to say hello to everyone here. I just picked up a 400, and thats about all i know about it. There are issues with it and havent had time, since i got it yesterday, to do anything with it.

I currently own a 87 CR250R and my kids ride a KLX110 and a KX65. I also have a street bike. Its like i am always looking for something else to add to the stable!

I will get pics up soon.

i'm new as well...just picked up a 97 FE400, might that be what you have? maybe not the same year...

Welcome ... and

BRING BACK THE OLDIES :bounce:

Hey new guy, your vin number is on the stamped on the steering head betweeing the triple clamps, it starts with a Y and the 3rd digit in is the year code, owners doc is helpful on top left of UHE main screen, manuals can be downloaded husaberg.com / service tab / downloads. this may help you with issues once you get it checked out.....

Thank you Bergini. I will go and get the VIN now and check it out. These are some pics that i got of it when i got it home. and i do have all the plastic and all the bits and pieces for it.

pics were taken last night. thats why it looks cloudy.
From what i understand two owners ago, it got locked up. The head is off and the previous owner tried to get the cam chain off, and could not get it to move, thats where i come in and got it. Might have questions about that.

*EDIT......Bergini, you said 3rd digit and the owners info said 10th. 3 says that its a 07 and the 10th says its an 02. I think that its an 02

Keep us updated on the project. I have an old 501 that needs a top end. It's all there, but I wasn't considering a rebuild.

that is a perfect example to why intoxicated people should not write things on the internet........you are correct, listen to the info in the doc if anyone tells you something different belieive the info on the doc!!! it looks like a 2002ish body style also, sounds like you have a way to go before riding! let the teardown begin!!!

water pump is on the head. it's a 2000

looks like the waterpump is on the side case in the first pic and not the head. just my 2cents

The bike is definitely a 2001 or newer. The 2000 models used the old motor and this is the newer motor with the cylinder cast into the center cases. Also, it has the newer style swing arm - but I can't remember what year that was changed.

thanks for all the info guys. It turns out that its a 02 400. Now, where are good places to get parts?

Great guy and he has a lot of knowledge and experience with Husabergs. Also, a lot of parts in stock. It may help to call as a lot of what he has parts-wise is not shown on the website.
