Firstly hello.
I'm from the UK and around christmass I started riding hare and hound enduro. I bought a TTR250 as it was cheap, easy to ride, good for a beginner etc. no taking the piss, its a good little bike! I feel that its not got nearly enough power, and being left for dead in the open sections only to catch people up at the technical stuff is really starting to bug me.
I test rode an FE400 and it was quite an eye opener! I've looked around and the FE501 seems fairly competetive in terms of price. I don't really know much about them. everyone allways talks about the high maintenance, but what is actually involved? i looked at the service schedule and it looked prohibitivley expesive but was told by a dealer that its mainly rubbish.
what would i have to do on a daily basis to maintain my bike and how much will it cost to do?
I have a good workshop and i'm not to bad mchanically. is it all home mechanic stuff or are there a lot of expensive specialist tools involved?
Are there any known faults or common problems associated with the '03 FE501?
Is there anything else I should know?
Does anyone want to buy a Yamaha TTR250?

Thanks

Welcome to the site. If your not sure about the Berg the guys on here will soon convince you.

I'm new to the Berg myself having only owned my FE400 for a couple of months but so far I haven't had any major problems (touch wood). The basics are easy, oil, plugs, valve clearences and carb adjustment etc but like any other competition machne you need to keep on top of the maintenece. If you don't something will break so be warned! After all that's what a schedule is for.

Costs are resonable and I'm lucky enough to live close enough to DCR (UK Husaberg importer) to get spares easily. Manuals are all available free on' tinternet along with the worldwide expertese on tap on this site.

If you have any problems then post it on here and I guarantee the guys on here will have the answer witin a couple of hours of posting.

You'll not be dissapointed with a Husaberg so go on, join an exclusive club. :D

HELLO MATE, WELCOME ABOARD AND ENJOY SUCKING UP THE INFO.

TRY TO PUT YOUR AREA IN AS IT WILL ATTRACT FRieNDS.

oops!

right-er low case-yes well, i suggest you download the owners doc at the foot of this post and learn a bit more.

try and get the '03 400 as that year improved greatly on my year-'02. the 400s have little work but it is important to look out for what to look out for.

my attitude is that i spend my time on maintenance instead of my money on updating goodies like my WR400 needed!

regards

Taffy
