Hey guys super site love red alert info.

I've just picked up an 08 FS650e on friday and OMG this bike is soon cool to ride. I've been riding MX for years now and have raced some supermoto on YZ450s and TM450SMX awhile ago i picked up an LC4 640 for the road but found it very heavy and wanted something that felt like an MX bike on the road and that just what the FS is i love it!

Know this bike was owned by a 50year old bloke who never drove it hard just tipped around back roads, he had note book with every little thing he did to it wrote down oil every 15hrs. The bike runs smooth without a rattle and pulls like mad but it has big miles on it 9k @ 220hrs on the engine without major work done to it!

I wonna trick the bike out with new wheels, exhaust and new display for oil temp so on but i need to make sure i dont blow it for now, i'd like to ride it for the summer and next winter do a rebuild if yous think i'll get away with it. So for know its gonna need a cam chain for sure but what do yous guys think i should cover for now?

Thanks

i've had an '08 650 owner have the valves seize in the guides but that's all. didn't touch it - just phone info but i put him straight on to the dual valve spring conversion just to be safe.

cam chain is a good idea if a little 'keen' at this point.

but they are well sorted normally by '08.

Cheers Taffy when would you think i should do the cam chain? i change my mx chain every 50 to 75 hours just to be safe as its only 20 quid.

Also are FS wheel fitments the same as LC4 640? And should i go for 5" rear rim or is standard the best setup?

Thanks

can't talk of wheels but my camchain is £35 and that should be the same price as any cheap after market chain and not more expensive so think "fairy" here!

the chain would easily do 3-4 years as there is no wear at all in any that i take apart from 2004. that means that they are now 4-5 years old.

regards

Taffy
