Hiya
Brand new 2008 FE450e bought today! I've removed all the restrictive stuff, and added a sump guard, an akrapovic slipon and a few small goodies.
I've gone through a few bikes since I started a little over a year ago, KDX220 -01 (a bit underpowered for my 200 lbs), a nice 450 EXC -03 (though in bad nick after a few owners that never should've been allowed near a wrench..) - which was traded in for a brand new 2-st 2008 300 EXC-E back in February this year.
I sincerely love that bike, but couldn't help missing some of that instant bottom end grunt the old 450 had, sure, the 300 is mellow for a 2-st, but I found myself very often either going sideways with a spinning rear wheel, or having to fettle the clutch to get it on boil.
...and the opportunity came up to get a brand new 2008 Husaberg FE450e - and I've always loved the spartan look of the 'bergs, no nonsense, just whats needed.
And for something odd...I've actually missed the maintenance on the old ktm, I actually enjoyed the odd valve adjustment - the 300 is mostly about cleaning and swapping airfilters.
Just had it fired up for first time, and man does it sound nice with the akra!
I'll run it in with the delivered jetting, then have a look here for suggestions, I assume the recommended setting, and the jets supplied with the carb might be a tad on the rich side.
