Hi Folks - Husaberg newb here, but I couldn't pass up a deal on a very clean & well taken care of 1999 FC501. I've had it for a couple of months now and I've been using it for a trail/play bike in the Rockies. Since I've had it I've reworked the suspension, put on Desert ITs, hand guards, and changed the gearing to slow it down for high mountain trails & obstacles. Bottom line, it's a beast and I'd like to keep it that way. On my last oil change, I noticed a few flakes of aluminum in my strainer and from reading on here, became aware that it may be due to a worn timing chain rubbing on the water pump outlet. All well and good as I'm mechanically inclined enough to do the work, but I can't find a source for parts and don't want to tear into the engine to see what's up without at least a proper gasket set.
So my question is, where can I find the proper timing chain/gears and gasket set for this beast? Is there a good source for other parts for the bike if I choose to do other work, i.e., valves, etc.? My Google Fu is strong but I've come up snake eyes every time. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!
