Hey fellow enthusiasts! I just purchased a 2010 FE 570 with only 80 hours. My name is Tony and I'm from Spokane Washington. If anyone is in my area and wants to ride let me know! I have a few issues and was wondering if anybody could chime in. Here's my short list:

First 5 minute ride she died...it was only out of fuel but low fuel indicator doesn't work. Checked bulb and pulled the fuel tank to make sure the connector was plugged in. Anyone know what it could be?

The darn seat keeps popping off when riding hard. I looked it over and the latch assembly doesn't hold the stud on the seat tight enough. No adjustment available so what the heck?

It has a early (z-start?) rekluse clutch and was curious what it would take (parts list) to put the clutch back to stock.

Also looking for a subframe fuel tank.

Thanks everyone!

Welcome Tony!

No definitive answers but here are some starting points.

- I suspect, like so may other FI bikes there’s a sensor in your tank. Double check the connections in the tank, by the fuel pump. There are parts fiche (parts blow ups) here on this forum and elsewhere that are worth looking at to see just what’s in your tank. FWIW I get 116 miles a tank on my FE390 with moderate to occasionally hard riding.

- I have no problem with my seat popping off, ONCE I get it snapped in place. What a PIA that seat assembly (though it’s nice to just pull a wire loop to pop it off in the field). Make sure all of the points of engagement on the seat pan are locking in to the correct spots on the frame. I find taking my time and sliding the seat forward and into position makes a big difference, then a fist hit over the latch and I’m solid. Whenever I’m servicing the air filter I take a moment to lube the seat latch assembly.

- I’m guessing that all you need to return to stock re the clutch is just the factory assembly, plates and such. Shouldn’t be a major issue to return to the original. Might be worth reaching out to Rekluse and asking them about some upgrades, you might like their newer offerings.

- There was a company in AU/NZ as I recall that made a big sub frame tank for extended racing. I believe they’re no longer making that extra tank but you may be able to find one used. I think Safari makes an oversized tank for the 70* bikes. I have an FE390 that is currently my hardcore, Rocky Mountain/single track/wide open spaces beast, and for that I love it. In the back of my mind a 570 from the same vintage would be a great dual sport, longer distance traveler, mostly off road machine. Let us know where you end up with your new ride!
