Hi all
I was looking on ebay for a new 520 chain and came across a 525 for £29.99 http://my.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?M ... LNLK:MEWAX
Has anyone tried using a 525 or will it not work.
I'm getting a bit fed up paying £50 for chains that only last me about 30 hours, And yes before anyone says i do look after them they are cleaned and sprayed with a good chain oil after each ride out :)

You can't use a 525 chain unless you have 525 sprockets as well.

Have a look at eBay item 280586551681

Its a good price. Is it a good make. :)
I use them on my 'Bergs but if you want a brand, you have to buy a brand.

Don't fit a 525 - the chain is too wide for the sprockets.

i would think a 525 would eat the clutch slave cylinder. in addition, it would be more prone to failure due to the narrow contact point on the roller.

If you are wearing out chains prematurely, all other things being equal, then I expect you are running it too tight. If you routinely tighten a modern chain, you are running it too tight. This promotes wear of the chain, and sprockets, and wheel and countershaft bearings, and compromises rear suspension performance.
