My original battery is getting old and I was thinking of spending the big bucks and losing some weight in the process. What are the best choices ?

earthX , less expensive, more protection/charge features and they have waterproof versions. Finished to the top of the research done advrider user _cy_ on the definitive testing thread about liPO for for bikes.

I'm in favor of EarthX as well! They use real A123 cells, sturdy cases, and their protection circuits do everything they should do.

(EarthX or finding real A123 cells somewhere and piecing together a battery yourself. I tried A123RC.com - they work fine for my DRZ but they aren't A123 cells and don't have the starting oomph of full-blown cells. The guys dug up some very nice looking screw-terminal cells in a thread somewhere - bushmechanic and berglsmerg got some iirc.)

I got a WPS battery on Ebay 3 years ago for my FE450 and have never had a problem with it. Plus I don't have to plug it into a battery tender as I have had to in the past, but I'm in GA. I think they run under $80 FWIW
