I have had problems with spark plug caps blowing the resister and thus going open circuit. Pull the cap off and useing your multimeter check the resistance through the cap.
Hold bare end of lead close (2-5mm) from a good earth point to see if it sparks.
check that you are getting a pulse into your coil (multimeter on input wire).
If all else fails..... buy a honda (now to w8 for the backlash)

I'm curious as to where you kill switch is unplugged. If it is not already, try unplugging the kill switch wire at the CDI unit itself, should be an orange wire.
Make sure all the connections are clean and good, you could have corrosion on the connector contacts, or a broken wire in the multi pin connector.
