It's completely kacked. Top end, bottom end, and the oil pump. Put it this way - for the quote I have to rebuild it from OEM spares, I could buy an entire new bike. And with the cult following that this bike has, there aren't a lot around, unless you want to pay through the nose.
There aren't any differences between the 2009 and 2011 models, except for compression, it appears.

Only difference appears to be compression. (*It's a moot point for me ... seller had already sold the 2009 bike and forgot to take down the ad)
If I have to shell out for a replacement bike, it'll be an FE570, so I can have both setups, and either part the rest of the bike out, or keep it for spares. (Yep, it's an expensive solution). There are a couple 2011s around, so I will see what happens in the next few days.
I'm just hoping that some Husaberg racing team has a spare engine sitting in a box somewhere, and now that the new bikes are out, they don't have a use for it anymore. *pipe dreams*
