Those who were at Moab this year must remember my stepson Kenny, who was riding a WR 250F.

Back then he was just recovering from a wrist fracture following a beginner's mistake on the trail which is why he was holding up a bit.

The ER MD did a very bad job when he put the bone back together last year and he had to have some extensive surgery today and I don't think he will be part of the "UHE-Almost a Force Ride" over here in February. :(

They had to reduce the fracture and put a titanium plate with 8 screws. :?

Good thing is that he intends to come back on the bike when his arm is fixed, he has too much fun riding it and that he may be interested in switching to Euros.

Oh well, I thought the "Moab 2005" crowd would like to know.

His email address is [email protected] if you want to send a message of support I think he will like it.

I hope he makes a quick recovery. I have an idea on how he feels, as I am waiting for a broken collar bone to heal. But, at least I am able to putt around the backyard on an old trials bike.

Only bone I ever seriously broke was a collar bone. That's painful but not excrutiatingly, but you can't do any sport activity, not even take a shower and you end up using a can of deo a day, so I feel your pain too!

Sorry to hear of your step sons injury, but rest assured he'll have lots of company in the riding with ailments department. It's all about having fun and doing what you enjoy ,so riding with a bum wrist is all good when you hit one of those days that it all goes well. I hope he has a full recovery and if not he can adapt a riding style that works well enough to get by.

good luck

Well the idea is to get rid of the bum wrist. He had to quit guitar and could not do push ups. Only think he could do was riding because it's mostly a pull than a push movement.

He's not going to be the first dirt rider who beeps at the airport gates.

Best of luck to Kenny. Broken bones are a bummer especially when they need to be reset. I have screws, plates, and pins in multiple places and can assure him that he'll be OK.
See ya in Feb.
