My Berg is ill needs some help!

Was out trashing my 08 FS650e for around 5 miles hard on off the gas next of all it starts to back fire and hesitate. Now after cleaning the carb checking valve clearance its still doing it, the bike runs ok cold but once its warm even a little it start it runs real bad at idle, at lower rpm it hesitates alot but on full throttle it still make power and wheels away. I'm gonna stick a new plug in it tomorrow but don't think that will fit it, can anyone point me in the rite direction. I'm so not happy i've just missed out on 2 days of sunny roads and no bike!

my 09 had a similar problem and it was the breather pipe on the petrol filler cap!

Hey Husasmith,

when I got my 08 FS650, it ran like crap after an hours riding. Pull the carby out & check that the pilot jet isn't blocked. mine had a tiny amount of crap in it & once I'd cleaned it out it went like the machine it was designed to. I put it down to the stuff in the new tank as the bowl was full of $hit & when I opened it up it dragged it through the jets. It's a place to start anyway.

Cheers wildman,

Did clean out the carb the bowl was clean jets all looked ok there was a very small amount of water in the back of the carb where the air box link on, didn't have an air line to blow the carb out so i'll do that next.

All is well and good again not sure tho if it was the plug or valves but its running at full tilt now!
