Anyone got a spare LDC...Taffs desperate to rip one apart see how it ticks...it would be worth the uhe clubbing together to get him one so he could update the doc...

It looked a very neat job, it had been grafted into the chassis he normally has a Zabel in. Seemed to go well, but there was a lot of muttering about the fuel injection. The general consensus is that fuel injection is banned in sidecarcross, hence all the 690's run carbs.

I wasn't at the event but found these pics from this German website devoted to sidecars. The fuel injection was discussed but nobody did find something against it in the FIM rules. I checked it too with the same result. Maybe in the past there has been a rule like that at the time they did use the 1000cc Yamaha twins.
With the industry switching to fuel injection for the MX bikes, it would be contradictory to ban injection for MX-sidecars.

Let's start saving some money

Best regards,
Stephan

did you do genk or any of the GPs this year stephan? trust you did the danish round?

Fi has no advantage over carb except on a LDC engine or a big bore single..... certainly, 41mm is the biggest restriction on a husabergs top end performance. beings it's a katoom top end he shouldn't find it too hard to tune it.

regards

There would have to be some points in the engine load range that would be better suited to EFI, even if only marginal.
The ease at which you can change fuel settings and Timing settings at any load point in an engine is a huge advantage.
Carb has no advantage over EFI

Dean and Alfie Hyde will both be running the new motors in 2011 Hocob chassis this year.
So that will give Taffster something to write about....
