Mx flywheel-->'normal' stator

I have 2 engines, 1 I am rebuilding.

One of the engines (the one in rebuild) is equipped with a MX-stator (3 wires) and MX flywheel.
The other engine has a sparks rewounded normal stator. Is it possible to use the normal stator with the MX-flywheel or should I pull the normal flywheel of the FE engine and use it with the normal stator on the rebuild engine..

the line of coils that charge your battery up would be outside the flywheel and therefore outside the magnetic field and do no work. you would have the ignition but not the charging.
