Anyone have a Motorcross Endcap for 02 FE400 or a howto so that I can modify my original exhaust and get an extra 2HP out of the girl. I am fairly new to bikes but want to have a go myself. If someone can give me some knowledge, pictures etc that would be great. I just want to give it a bit more power.

Hi Factor:
I know this is not what you are looking for but if you happen across an FC silencer and needed a spark arrestor endcap then look no further.
Husaberg FC 470, FC 550
Only $ 119.95 (Part # HUSABERGSA)

I heard you could mod the original to be a straight throughwith mesh and just a new endcap to make it an MX style which i think gives you an extra 2 hp. Just wanting to know how to do it.

Hi Faktor,

1 Gut the OEM muffler
2 Purchase 2" perforated tubing to use as a core
3 Bore a 2" hole in the OEM end cap (This will in the process remove the ugly little turned down snout that is covered up with Carbon Fibre)
4 Expand one end of the perforated core in order to slip over the OEM collector outlet located deep within the muffler housing
5 Attach a suitable outlet and spigot (in order to slip the opposite end of the perforated core) to your modified end cap
6 Install the core / pack with suitable material and affix end cap

I have indeed performed such a modification. Be advised It is quite involved, however in the final does prove of benefit as due to the size of the OEM canister noise is not excessive and the fit remains that of OEM.

Perhaps Husabomber and / or Enforcer4 would be so kind as to supply pictures?

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,
Dale

Thanks for that great info Lineweaver. I will try and track down a second hand oem muffler before i go and stuff the current one i have. Yes some pics would be great.

Alternatively
Have a word to John Hill in Albury
He will order you an adapter that connects your OE endcap to the offset pipe inside your muffler.
It is $65 and requires you to trim your end cap internally.
Comes with adapter, packing material and rivets.

Not too loud, just right.
