Hey guys don't know much about the mechanical side of things so my question is what do I need to do to be able to fit the original dirt set of tyres back onto my 06 Husaberg Fe550 (so I can have complete motard and dirt wheel setups)
It was converted to motard by someone else so I don't know all the sizes.

Dirt wheel set are Excel with 260mm front disc, 220mm rear disc, 48 teeth sprocket
Currently has 320mm front disc, brembo front and rear. WRP motard wheels, 39 teeth rear. And the front axle is to big to fit the dirt wheels.

So do I just need 320mm disc for the front dirt wheel, front axle to fit and a bigger chain?

Thanks

I would use another front wheel so you can use your original front axle.
Since you have an FE I wonder which brakes you've got? Maybe you just need another bracket for the calipper so it will suit the smaller 260mm disc?
The 320mm disc is likely to get smashed when dirt riding...
Longer chain seems to be a good idea. :D

There is a KTM kit available that fits a wheel with 20mm axle to a newer bike that's got a 26mm axle.

not to hijack this thread or anything- but myself i am wondering this as well. i have an 09 fe570 and have the option for a set of motard wheels and brakes- what am i looking at to flip back and forth?

Same question for a 2011 FE 570...what do I need to flip from dirt to SM wheels and brakes. Not looking to drop a ton of money and want the easiest/fastest swap possible to go back and forth with. Found two sets of KTM 17" wheels on CL for $500 and $550 but not sure about what else I'll need to complete the conversion kit. Need someone to lay this out for me who's been there, done that.

Thanks!!

I have a 2000 FC501 and last summer I converted it to Supermoto.
I used the wheels from my 640 supermoto and got the KTM kit to allow me to use my 20mm axle with the KTM's front wheel. Other than that, the wheels where a perfect fit, no spacers of any kind required.

You will need a shorter chain for the sumo set up and an adaptor to allow you to use the stock front brake caliper with a 320mm disc. The alternative -and optimal set up- is to get a 4 or 6 piston beringer caliper (fits as is), but you will need a 310mm disc as well.

This is how my bike looks now and i think it will give you a better idea of what I am talking about
