My front brake is lookin kinda skinny so is my "grabby" back brake.....I have used sintered on my other bike and seemed good....any suggestions for the SM.... I flat track the bike as well and would really like a back brake that doesn't grab hard but more progressive.........dirt guys i talked to like the lock up, but on pavement and flat track I really need to modulate better......any Ideas....FYI the stock brakes are cookin when I pull into the pits.....alittle hotter than what I am used to

Hi you can try an EBC brake kit , I have a 280mm front disk on my 501 . The kits come in stock size or 280 and 310mm they are listed as KTM kits but will bolt right up to your Berg, hope this helps.

If you can find some to fit on whatever SM front brake you have the Ferodo CP911*'s are excellent front pads. These Ferodo rears sound like what you are looking for: DRC-393

I have WB (Dunlopad rebrand) rear pads, and they have a ceramic backing to insulate against heat, but are probably grabbier than you would like.

Also, I recommend running Motul RBF600 fluid.

Sintered pads run hotter.

back brake grabbing?

i had this problem and i cured it completely by cutting out the middle 1/3 (vertically) of both pads.

Thanks Guys....
I'm gonna try Taffy's advice tonight befor the next flat track event.....makes sense

Hey Taffy, I bought a set of "Braking" SINTERED pads.......when I pulled the stock ORGANIC pads out I noticed they had parts of the pad missing kinda like rough gouges taken out about half the depth to the metal backing plate.......overheating ????? possibly ??? I am also flushing both brakes with Motul 600........anyways I have a SM race this weekend.....hopefully I should feel the difference.........hopefully I can place high enough to get some tire money

Hey Brian, did the gouges look like someone used a screwdriver to push the pads apart?

Man, I wish that I was able to make it up your way for that race, that track is soooo fun ! Good luck.

You were up at Canby for the last big event....?
The gouges aren't really gouges ......??? looks like the material crumbled and fell out........weird....I am coming down to your area to take the Doug Chandler SM school in the spring......My goal next year is to at least make tire money..... I finally got the bike figured out with suspension and all....got about 8 hrs on the motor and the thing just keeps pulling harder, I actually think this motor is finally loosening up....If thats possible.....
