Back in the 80's there was a dispute between Mike Goodwin and the infamous Mickey Thompson about control of the supercross series. Long story short Goodwin tried to screw over Thompson, Thompson took him to court and won a big settlement.
Not too long after that settlement, Mickey Thompson and his wife were gunned down in front of their house in so cal by perps on bicycles with automatic weapons.
Goodwin while maintaining his innocence lived on a yacht in international waters for many years. When he finally returned to the US he was summarirally arrested, and has been held without bail as a flight risk for the last few years.
With some circumstantial evidence, but, more so by testimony of his former associates, on Thursday this last week Mike Goodwin was convicted on two counts of 1st degree murder.
