Max revs for FC470 2002 -trying to calculate ratios for ICE!

Gearbox ratios for your bike should be:
1st: 14/33 = 2.357
2nd: 17/30 = 1.765
3rd: 19/26 = 1.368
4th: 23/25 = 1.087
5th: 24/22 = 0.917
6th: 27/20 = 0.741 ( the FC "close ratio" 6th is: 25/21 = 0.840)
Stock sprocket combo is: 13/48 = 3.69
There is a helpful sprocket combination ratio sheet in my gallery here.
I could not tell you where your max power/torque readings will be obtained but by looking through some of the galleries that others have and finding dyno charts you should be able to get a ballpark area where max power is achieved and where sign off is. Hope this helps you with any info you may not have already had.

I did a quick browse through Dale Lineaweavers gallery and found the following dyno chart off of a KTM450:
KTM450
I know this is not a Husaberg 470 but should give you some ballpark figures to go off of. Max power was reached about ~8200rpm and the max effective range for any power is about ~9000rpm. Sign off occures about ~9500rpm. Maybe you could use these figures to get an estimation of where your bike will produce its power most effectivly and its useful range. Again, I know its not a Husaberg but should get you in the ballpark.

forget it!
your wheel is spinning uncontrollably, bouncing and hooking-the lot. just rev it till it runs out of power and then try not to do it again. over revved huseys sink the valves into the head and may need to be replaced. tight tappets is a sure sign of this.

Damn you are right! In Finland we use special studded tires for clean ice only.
Traction is incredible. And so is the cornering speed. Bikes are lowered for ice. Fastest riders like Mika Kallio scratch their footpegs on the ice...
So I calculated 14/40 should be right.
