The map switch for the new berg isnt exactly a quick change sort of switch.
Is there differant swich's out there or is the map switch we have now it.
It takes way too long to chage maps, the Sherco 510's switch is quick no cover to take off and replace. ?????????????????????

Someone please help this man, he needs a quick flickable switch so he can be better than his Sherco mate.
Seriously I did not look at the switch but what is the point of it even being called a switch when you have to stop and stuff around with it for minutes just to switch to another map.

Or are we missing something??

Hey Gotchya,

how are you using the switch? only other thing i'd suggest is just getting 1 or 2 MX type kill switches and wire them up so you have a forward and reverse map switch, it'd probably take a couple of hours in the shed and a six pack to get sorted.

Here's the resistance reading for the map switch from "n4hhe" posted at KTM talk.

1: 15k ohms "Beginner / soft power delivery"
2: 6800 ohms "Advance / aggressive power delivery"
3: 4700 ohms "Standard"
4: 3300 ohms
5: 2700 ohms
6: 2200 ohms
7: 1950 ohms (not a standard value)
8: 0 ohms
9: 0 ohms
0: open

Chears Mate the penny finally dropped seeya

Ah, sorry mate, missread what you were on about, youre talking ignition map switch for an adjustable CDI.

Sorry, Cheers!
Azza.

Specifically talking about the 2009 FE450 and FE570.

The switch has 10 positions but only 3 are significant. The standard mapping is with no connection between the wires. 6800 ohms produces the "advanced" setting. 15,000 ohms produces the "beginner" soft mapping. Most all settings are standard 1/4 watt 5% resistor values.

What isn't clear is whether the ECU will change its settings on the fly, or whether this switch is sampled once at start and never again.
