Hello me and a buddy just bought two 10 Fx 450s.. we are unsure what do do about the map switch and even all the benifits with getting the map switch.. we are looking at the 70deg switch.. so from factory is the bike set at a less aggressive torque curve than the high setting on the switch from 70 degrees? there are 3 torque curves? i wanna be able to run the bike on the most aggressive torque curve possible... so do i need the switch to obtain this?
thanks
any info will be appreciated

Yes, there are 3 settings on the map Switch.
Advanced / Aggressive power delivery
Standard
Beginner / Soft (or some people on UHE call it traction)

The difference is not that great, The Aggressive is not going to throw you off the back of the bike like a wild horse.
I believe from reading past posts, the difference is in the way the EFI Computer sets the spark timing or maybe at a guess how quickly the EFI computer lets the spark timing advance as the engine starts to rev out (rate of attack some EFI computers call that). More spark timing more power.

A bike without the map switch will only operate in the Standard Mode. The wiring for the map switch is all there behind the headlight.

I ride with mine set to Soft Mode, it still has plenty of grunt for me and just knocks the edge off the bike a little when riding up hard stuff.

The factory Husaberg map switch is absolutely crap and not worth buying. It really is a piece of shyte. Go the 70 Degree Map Switch

Haven't got that one doesn't matter which switch you get you can't swap between them on the fly you have to stop your bike turn it off then select which map you want then start up again.

I am a Husaberg dealer an have sold 20 plus Husaberg OEM switches. They work perfect , easy to use and have not had one fail yet. I personally would have no reason to use anything but.

I won't argue with the "works perfect" part, but I disagree with the "easy to use" part. I thought it was a real pain to mount in a convenient spot and a bigger pain to change the switch setting. Especially since I wear glasses and the numbers are impossible to read with my helmet on.

I ended up building my own.

I have the stock MAP switch and I like it...it works just fine. I mounted it on my Bonz handguard mounts so I don't have to mount it on the handlebar. I run the "traction" setting or the standard setting depending on circumstances and their is a difference although slight. But right now I'm in the "my shoulder got hurt" setting so I'm just puttering on the street a bit. :williamshatter:

You slide a rubber cover off and turn the knob to 1 2 or 3 on the pointer. I think it takes 10 seconds. Yes easy to use.

Yeah, I had the stock OEM map switch...

Unfortunately, I couldn't see the micro-minature numbers! There's only 3 map settings but there is 10 positions on the OEM switch. Talk about frustrating... after wasting $35 on the OEM switch, I sold it for $10 or $12 dollars and spent $75 to get the 70 Degree racing map switch. It has only 3 easily visible settings; H (high-competition), L (low-soft power delivery), and a dot (standard).

It's easy to see and use and looks good too. The OEM map switch is ugly and hard to find a good place to mount!

I like the 70 degree racing MAP switch. The "L" setting does have more low end torque and a slightly softer upper end hit. I actually prefer it for technical trail riding.

At 30 deg F with winter gloves on and your glasses steamed up?.....NO CHANCE!

I modded the redundant indicator/flasher switch and, IMO, it's easier to use than ANY bespoke map switch and cost me £0.

I have a 70 deg switch its awesome mounts right in between throttle and mirror. I ride exclusively on soft/traction around town and in any woods/trails. I use "aggressive" mode on the highway or wide open sand dunes etc. Its so nice to be able to knock off the bottom end snap when doing alot of stop and go and tight trail riding.. really softens up the bottom end when you want a gentle bike.. I think its impressive that a 570 can feel like a 250 when you want it to on the bottom range.

Is there a tutorial on how to do this? Please

Hi.
I have had my husaberg fe 501 2004 about a month n love it.
I have seen people mention a map switch, but my bike first have one. Is this something I can fit to my bike?
Thanks
