My fc 501 got a work out today made about a 100 mile loop on the streets an some highway bike ran strong an even out ran some harleys to 100mph but started hearing a sound from the chain an noticed my chain gaurd had broke an gone so the chain was rubbing the swingarm no biggie but while checking that out I noticed the front sprocket was loose on the shaft took it of cleaned it put it back still loose all looks like new is this normal on bergs ???

I have wondered the same thing, but i assume its normal, mines been loose for the past 90 hours, i got a new sprocket and it fits just as loose, no wear on either sprocket or the output shaft.

it won't help much but you can try beating the entrance up at either end with a ball pane hammer (the nobby bit you'd never use on the other end of your 'normal' hammer.

just spend 5-minutes beating in the entrance at both ends.

Thank you an I would but there is no washer it's a c clip that holds it on

what are you on about?

I'm talking about loose on the splines. yo'll never have a tight sprocket with a circlip.

Thats what shims are for. You may not get it all the way tight but you will get it alot better than sloppy!

I got a tight one. Had to tap it on with a hammer.
OEM ones at the KTM shop are loose and $28. This was $19 at the same shop.
