Hey All,
New guy here looking into purchasing an '06 FE 450. I've actually never heard of a Husaberg until coming across this bike several years ago when it was purchased by a very good friend of mine. Long story short, my good friend passed away, and I've got the opportunity to purchase this bike.
As mentioned, its a 2006 FE450 with 2600 miles and some change. It's in excellent condition, and it was ridden very little. What are some of the things I should look for when I go to look this bike over? What parts are generally the first to go, and how easy is it to acquire replacement berg parts?
I looked up a blue book, which mentions a value of $2900+ for excellent condition, but according to their metrics, that includes many more miles.
The family is asking $4000. That seems a little high to me, considering the BB, and the price of other similar used dual sports out there, but maybe the low miles makes up for that. Of course, it would kill me to see this bike go to some random person, but I also don't want to blatantly over-pay for the bike, as nice as it would be to have a reminder of my good friend.
Anyways, any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Also, please excuse my extreme noobness here, but I'm also curious on the proper pronunciation of Husaberg. Is it "hus" like husky, or "hus" like noose? :giggle:
