having many failings i feel i have big enough shoulders for simon to point them out now and again because in balance of these i have my 'up 'n at 'em' attitude that gets things done.
one thing that has sat there makng me think "poor children!" has been the this thread long acknowledged in the doc as how to get a dell orto working:
http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name= ... ic&p=13863
it has been essentially a spilling of the lineaweaver beans. a gem of information, a nugget to be treasured! i trust done with "il cognicenti's" permission! amazed, yep! amazed that this gem of info has not been used by anyone i can recall, or whom mentioned it. NOT!!!!!!!!!! (or to acknowledge the time consuming hard work it took).
i stand to be corrected and await a tyraid of "i did it and said so....!!!"
but, i did "it" today and phuqing hell! what a rocket! the FE650e, previously juddering and banging had had the ignition advanced 10 degrees and then, yep! BIT THE DELL ORTO BULLET!!!! .....to driiiiiiilllllllll with no going back!
so, i drilled the PA and the MA, blew it out, changed the 'fat' 42 for a svelte like 33, the K51 on C2 was good to go as was the 45 choke and the 190 main (heimar's considered opinion for a 650), the slide was filed from what was actually 3.75 to 4.25mm as i figured the important bit was the ".5mm" and then screwed it all together!
it started first kick. i stopped it for fitting the strobe and fuel tank, then. first kick. i then togged up to ride and guess what? ... first kick! i pulled over and stopped then ........first kick!
the engine that had popped and banged was SILK smooth just like the FCR. no glitches, coughs or splutters! i could not fault it.
joe was on the money
lineaweaver was on the money
simon was kinda on the money
(nice stator mr sparks)
and...
and....
where were you? :?: :?: :?:
regards
