Dale and Taffy,
A short time ago both of you had indicated that you had used the stock Magura mineral oil clutch master cylinder to activate the rear brake using regular glycol based brake fluid. How are these supposedly non compatible to brake fluid units holding up to the caustic effects of brake fluid thus far? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Thanks for the update.

I can't speak for Dale or Taffy, but I converted my clutch Mc, It popped its seals twice. I also found it doesnt give a very good feel for braking or lever pull. I dont know if this is down to the ratio of the Mc or not or if my Mc was was just a bit suspect(only 3 months old).
I have now got a rear brake Mc off a malagutti scooter fitted...cost next to nothing from a breakers, came with hose which was correct length and now I have loads of feel and one finger rear braking

i've been putting all the info i have on the rekluse thrread where i like to build up all the info... it's a shame it gets spread around you know?

anyway, we can answer it here as well! well i've had no problems with the seals because i went into this with synthetic 5.1 brake fluid.

i found the lever wooden after the first ride and adjusted it nearer the bar for more feel. i also noticed that i couldn't 'easily' lock the brake by hand (well, compared to my foot anyway!) so i took one pad out and put a 'full' new one in. so now i have one pad that has the middle one-third filed out and the other is all good.

on sunday the braking was lovely and i can brake hard or lock it up-it's up to me.

regards

Taffy

i would find it for you but i know you'll find it real easy. go into the doc and it's there i would guess under tuning or after market goodies. there is at least one link on the subject and that's to the really long thread i did.

hope you doin't slash your wrists half way through....! avid reading or what!

regards

Taffy
