Picked up a new Motocross Action mag today that has the radical new engine in the new KTM.
I would assume that this is the BERG powerplant ????
Could not find anything on the web about the 2010 KTM, what am I missing ???

Are you sure its a real pic from KTM or is it a computer made image ?
Seems strange that they would already be showing new models at this time especially in a downturn and if its the husaberg motor then it will need the berg chassis to house it and as ktm cannot get the FI to work on their current models they would need to use the bergs FI system which leaves them with a Husaberg that has orange plastics.
They would then be jeopardising sales of the existing ktm range.
Anythings possible i suppose but **** for brains comes to mind from their marketing strategists.
Still, as long as they leave behind plenty of spare parts.

they can't get EFi working right on their bikes? that explains so much about the new models you've said it all now.

Is it the same picture that is in the "new info on 09 Husabergs" thread?

RE: Re: KTM

Dale

I would have to think so...the concept was concieved in Sweden using the 'frankenstein' motor that has been all over the internet, then the Factory in Austria developed it into the production model...of course using what resources they had at hand. From what I can gather, the first real Husaberg version may well have been the one on display in Milan in Nov 07. Any other versions, the one mentioned in MXA, was a development model, between 'frankenstein' and the current version.

Funny MXA would be spinning this now...

Well, that's Jody's world.

MXA is a funny magazine, they come off like they are all that and have to make minor tweaks to EVERY bike to make it right, and they never did get wise to, among other things the adjustable pilot air screw.

And they have never gotten it right that Husaberg has been doing the motor R & D for KTM for years now. You have to wonder what the new bike would have been like with the "SX" head, and the 570 displacement.
