What in the hell is the matter with these KTM dealers? I have been to two, one in Florida, and now there is one just two towns over from me. Both of them didn't have the foggiest notion about Husaberg. I try to tell them that KTM owns Husaberg, and they are like "hu-sa-berg?, don't know". Is it typical for KTM dealers to be so ignorant of Husaberg? Since KTM owns Husaberg, can't these dealers order parts?---Even if I have to provide them with the part numbers? Is here such a cross reference list of parts that may interchange between KTM and Husaberg?
This is just annoying. Kinda like not being able to buy Ford parts at a Lincoln/Mercury dealership---they ALL come in Ford boxes.

Semantics

Husaberg bikes are imported into the United States by Barrett Marketing Group, which has no affiliation whatsoever to KTM USA. We are, in fact, in direct competition. KTM USA is a separate company from KTM Austria, a division of which is Husaberg. KTM USA ceased importing Husabergs in 2000 or 2001, I believe. Hope that helps clarify matters.

Cheers,

Brett Saunders

The Husaberg part numbering scheme is the same as the KTM part numbers.

I'll bet that if you just gave your Husaberg part numbers to the KTM dealer and pretended they were KTM parts that you would still receive the right Husaberg parts.

It is a bit silly/sad for the your KTM dealer to be ignorant of the KTM/Husaberg relationship.

T-Jet-Tim: The KTM that is local to me or local to you? Just swondering who is close by.
