Thanks for the video Broly,

I just rode a 2002 KTM 520EXC today. I borrowed it from a friend because I was curious how this bike
rode.
First I did a street test and rode it to work for 10 miles. And also in the neighborhood back to back with my
05 FE650.
The KTM was not as comfortable as the Husaberg and kind of felt like I was sitting on a barstool in comparison.
It also seems to ride higher and narrower. The 520 motor has a nice power band.
My Husaberg definitely has a higher comfort level on the street.

Today was the dirt test. We compared it with my friends 2006 FE450.
Both bikes have similar set ups with suspension and tires. And both were not my bikes so I didn't have a setup
advantage.
We rode back to back, switching off.
Almost immediately I realized this bike wasn't working for me like I wanted. The problem isn't with the power,
in fact the motor is sweet. It fact it pulls nice and is very usable.
But the bike doesn't feel planted like the Husaberg. And I wasn't able to push the limits into the turns with confidence without the front feeling sketchy.
And in turn the rear wants to come around too easy when gassing it out of the turns.
So I immediately switched off to the 450 Berg and AH YES. I can start getting down to business.
I've ridden the FE450 before and the motor is good but I could use just a little more there.

So Bottom line is the 520 has a nice motor. Something I can enjoy being a 650 guy.
Other than that the Husaberg is more planted and handles way better.

Pollo

The 520 is a nice overall bike, I had one for about 6 years, and the last 2 years along with the Husaberg 650.

The 520 is a more linear engine, less powerful, but still has some punch.

I'm not a wheelie guy, but curiously the 520 lifted more easily than the Husaberg .. maybe because the Berg is more brutal and I keep the arms forcing the front wheel down unconsciously..

With the stock 15/45 gearing on the FE650 you can just roll it on in 3rd gear and the front end rises effortlessly.

I had a 2002 520,

it was sweet.

So, I have a new 14 front sproket and a M5B about to go on.

And chain glide, rear spoket (48), lower slide thing ( I had little wheel from a 98 cr500 on this whole time ), chain, needle clip just dropped and newly cut plastic around the seat ( with damage ),

I'm just asking for it on these trails out here.

And my 2002 520 MXC went from 2002 till 2009 like full speed on and off road almost every day.

with daul sport tires a lot of the time.
