Hello Husa fellows,

I just get back my old SEM stator from rewinding.
I've get one free of charge rewind from UHE member Kris650berg who it starting his own job with rewinding of these stators for this post about the work he done.

Stator was actually from KTM LC4, so Kris rewound it to fit on my Husa, made new timing mark on it, also there is a homemade gasket for ignition cover that you get.

Before fitting the stator to bike I made the resistance readings and they are all in specificity range, you can see results below:
Red => Black =3,15 k
Green => Black =174,3
Yellow-yellow => Blue =0,8
After changing of stator bike it's starting at first kick and runs nice.

You can see on pictures in attachment how stator looks like.
This silicone don't looks very nice, but that doesn’t matter because anyway you can't see it under ignition cover , and still it's functional, what is more important :cheers:

Also here is a post from Kris were you can see his work and ideas.

At the end I would like to add that it was very nice to cooperate with Kris, it's one carefully and pleasant guy :D

Hi kli

I've been using rewinds for some time now and this certainly looks different from the ones that I've used.

Tell me one thing, the silicon used is soft and flexible to your touch ?

:cheers:
ZAGA

hi Zaga,

Yes silicone it flexibile and soft, under the silicone can be seen one layer of isolation lack (hard to see on picture).

br

Yes that flex thing can be what I was looking for, because my last two rewounds had sever cracks with very few hours, and they had very little torque on the screws, checked every ride, etc etc

Also that thing of converting the LC4 stator to the berg can be good, it's another source of stators.

Kli you should take care of that rust on your stator 8O

It was good that kris came to this post and talked about prices, always important :mrgreen:

:cheers:

Yes, i need to grid that rust with sand paper.

Do you Zaga maybe put them in vaseline, have you expirience with that?
Read about it in doc's.

As I read from his other posts rewound it's 120 GBP.

Hi
Vaseline can do it, but it has a very low melting point, so you have to keep a eye on it.
You can also use a thin layer of grease with a higher melting point, it will last longer, since there is nothing in contact and the only thing that matters is the magnetic field you can try different products.
On the mk2 there is a easy acces, so I open it every time I ride and spray it with one "rust off". On the mk1 it's more difficult, so I have one spray from wurth that it's to insulate the rotor from electric engines, it lasts longer, it makes some kind of hard layer. I don't remember the name, and I'm not at home to check it. I will do it latter.

Keep us posted on this new rewind, there are some of us that still ride this old ladies :) And this SEM stator is a major pain !!!!

:cheers:

hi kli
thank you very much for your write up, have you been out for a ride with your new stator yet?? how was it ??

zaga
i can guarantee you would never experience any heat cracks with a rewind from me - no heat cracks - no cold cracks -no vibration cracks.
my prices are £120 and comes with 12 months warranty and a free stator cover gasket , also i post back for free

cheers kris

Hi Kris

Its allways good to have a second option, specialy with such a pain like this stators.
