Hi All,

Just finished my final testing of a standard rewound Kokasan core with standard flywheel

This is for maximum alternator output. Regulated rectified 12VDC

With the standard flywheel it's making 120W max this is from the reg/rec to the battery @ 7000 rpm 14.14 VDC at the battery.

120W RPM 110W

12.85 2000 12.85
13.00 3000 13.00
13.2 4000 13.50
13.80 5000 14.20
14.00 6000 14.28
14.14 7000 14.28

55W 1000 13.00
2000 14.45

No load just the battery 1000 RPM 14.45 VDC

So I think that this is not to bad and should be enough power for most peoples uses.
I would think with the TT flywheel you might push 150W.

Sparks.

Just to calrify do you mean TT flywheel 150W or TT reg/rect 150W? I'm asking because I didn't think TT made a flywheel for the Berg (or is it the same as a KTM flywheel?). I really liked the TT heavy flywheel I had on my last bike.

Hi Neil,

I think I have miss quoted here, I was under the impression that the TT flywheel with the rewound stator would produce 150 W I thought I had read it some where but with speaking with them they said the gain would be between 5% and 10% max. So unless you are very close to the limit I don't think it is worth bothering about.
The regulator rectifier I am using is a 150 W Trail tech unit and works exceptionally well

Yes regarding the flywheel I've not exactly asked them if the KTM is the same fit as the Husaberg but the one I am using is a KTM flywheel being the problem with Husaberg one it is inverted and I can't run inverted ignitions on my rig.
But good thinking there flywheel might be good for the extra weight if it fits.

Regards

Sparks.
