Being a newbe to the Husabergs I thought i would ask the experienced out there what they take out when laning.

Tools, I dont know the sizes used on the Husabergs yet (not had to take it apart in the week I have had it YET!!)

Out on the lanes...
Tools ??
Punchture Kit/tube (just a front? as it can be stuffed in the rear to 'get home')
Tyre levers
Pump of some form
Chain links
Spark Plug
Cable Ties
Welding wire (cable ties melt when hot)
Couple of nuts/bolts/washers

Back at camp if coming in a car/van
More tools
Bulbs
Change of oil??
Tubes/tyres
Paddock stand?

Cheers in advance for feed back on this one.

Pete

I regularly go on 150+ mile rides and I don't take as much as that!
I have changed a lot of bolt and nuts for 'allen' versions so that means I can take all of the plastics off and do much more with just a simple compact bicycle multi tool!
Usually carry a few zip ties of different sizes.
I run mooses (meece?) so no puncture worries!
A wallet, a phone and normally a camera!

Thats it!!
Some call me mad but I'm happy with it like that!

I take a bag with:
- front tyre
- levers
- spanners
- mole grips
- small bike pump
- spare nuts/bolts
- allen keys
- will also add a top rope of some type (heavy duty string or tie-strap)

BUT
- starting to think this can all be replaced by AA card, phone and money!

Well my only lane stuff has really been on the MT, that has a little tool box so that carries the stock Rotax/MT tool kit a few cable ties n welding/binding wire and a pump. Whilst out we have had a 2 chains break, a timing belt fail (easy fix in the field on them ) a hand guard undo itself and loose its bolt. With the Super tenere guys just a fried reg/rect.

Whats in the normal Huasberg tool kit for a 2003 FE501? Having seen the vid with the drowed bike i just know that would be me!!!

All of the above - plus a SPOT locator beacon. We're often out of cell range at the trailhead, yet alone well into a ride. You can ride further in an hour than you can walk in a day (in mx boots). If winter riding (with studded tires) I'll take lighters to start a fire if necessary. Also, enough wire to jump start the Berg. (can't bump with my rekluse).

I also have a small first aid kit. Not sure if that was mentioned. Just a few bandaids, and sine water purification pills.

have a look at this thread...............

esp Steves download doc...well over the top but a good picking list.

if you're thinking about the Wales trip in the spring - I wouldn't stress too much as we'll all have bits & bobs & pool resources at the site before we start. In UK you're never too far from help.

cable ties - spark plug & spanner - tyre valve remover & new valve (so I found out last year - cheers eddie.
Medium sizes multi tool -

Maybe a set of those light, thin hiking / running shoes into the camelback?
