Hey can anybody help me.
I'm a novice when it comes to Husabergs. I have an FS650 motard & the kickstart seal is leaking.
My local dealer gave me a new seal. What I want to know is, do you have to take the transmission cover off to replace it or can you just remove the kickstart & pop it out.
Just need to know how to do it & wheather I need to go grab a gasket for the trans cover.
Any help would be appreciated.

You should have an O ring supplied as the new seal. Just remove the kickstart, and replace the O ring. It should be one of the simplest jobs to do on a Berg. Don't forget a little loctite on the kickstart bolt when reassembling.

Good Luck
Steve

stab the old one 'harpoon like' with a bradawl or a scriber and fish it out.

Yes!
Just press the new o-ring in place with something that isn't sharp.
As stated above, put a dab of lock-tite on the kickstarter bolt and it's also recommended to put anti-sieze on the splines on the shaft.
