Hi guys,

I've installed the KB kit #96-96000 on my 06' FE650 but I can't get any valve clearance.

Per a previous post, it seemed like no modifications were needed to fit the kit.

However, with or without the spacers in the kit, the rocker arms are touching the valves allowing no clearance whatsoever!

I'm getting confused on the next step without going to a machine shop and have the valve stems cut. :(

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Kw are bolt and forget, the husaberg head share all the same parts with the ktm rfs

Or the ktm atv rfs are bolt and forget
(Just make sure the height is not crazy off to standard)

-i didn't had any problems with mine and didn't use the 0.5? spacer and with the 36/31 as everything was fine

When the spring broke nothing else happened? Did the valve hit the piston?

You had some new valves? Did you recut the valve seat?

If you have the valve steam cut on the original valve it wouldn't be nice as there isn't much material between the grove and the top of the steam

What are you describing is the same as when i fitted the polaris valve but they were in the 100.5mm long not 97mm

There could be something wrong in there make sure is all good

Thanks for your reply.

The spring broke without other failures. Piston and valve seats were spotless.
I have installed and lapped 4 new OEM valves and bought a KB spring kit.

I also took advantage of this to replace everything else: new camshaft bearings, new cam chain, new rocker arms.

That's it!

I've tried with and without the spacers, which should not change the mounted height as the valve retainers sit at the same level. But it was worth trying...

It's maddening

So..if the old rocker arms are 100% okay? Try to fit them

Maybe the sent you the wrong part or the part is wrong (i am not sure if pre 2003 bikes share the same rocker arms or are different)

What you describing that the valve is ''too long and can't get the clearance'' it can't be cause by the valve spring but only if you went crazy in grinding the valve seat

My only suggestion is to try the old rocker arms (give it a try) it shouldn't take too long

Well....brain fart! Your comment made me look at everything again and I found the issue: The cam was 180degres off! The lobes were up instead of down.

I'm used to newer engines with shims; lobes up :)

Thanks again for your precious help.

Just glad it got find out before was too late..

I was actually thinking about having the wrong timing but I thought if it was a bit off only one side the valve tip would ''hit'' the rocker arms...but 180 it's wayy too much

Have a nice day :) get back riding soon
