This will be my second berg but first 2 stroke bike.
Are they good to go or are there any recommended parts, protection bits etc?
Is the power map switch worth having? Had one on my 450 70° which was handy trail riding but I'm assuming the 250 will only be angry when you give it lots of throttle?
I will be trail riding not racing the bike.
How often are folks changing the gear oil?

I've had fx & a fe450 as well as 2 x te250's. The te250 is a great bike, tbh the 12 te250 was the best for racing IMO, the 13 frame did not gel with me as much. 2 totally different bikes really, the 2t is a hell of a lot lighter than the 450 and just a better racer. Play with the Pv springs on the 250 will make a big difference to the engine and the way you like it. I still have a 09 450 and adding a 14 maybe red 2t to workshop this week. For racing I'm much faster on the 2t but I do love the berg 4 popper.
