Hello!

Just bought myself a 450 FE on an 04.

I’ve wanted one for a while but alway shied away as they tend to have a bit of a reputation!

As soon as i got it I did the fork seals, wheel bearings, swing arm bearings and a new battery (that was a fresh experience for me!).

Just went out for a spin, runs nicely! Was expecting it to be a bit more grunty but i think the softer approach will be better off road!

The only thing I noticed really is that it takes a while for the revs to drop when i come to a stop. Maybe an air leak? Blocked pilot jet...needs more investigation!

Looking forward to the idiosyncrasies of the bike! First off road test coming up on Saturday!:ninja:

Hello guys,Im Uros from Serbia.I wanted to buy a low weight supermoto and i got a Husaberg FE400E 2002.
I had many issues. After 7 months i finally had all parts and i fixed it. I've been riding it for 7 days and my rocker arm bearing got wrecked. Can someone tell me where can i find rocker arm bearings because i couldn't find anything. Please help me because i dont want to sell my bike. Thanks in advance.

Hi Taffy,

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried that, and no joy.

As you now know I have ordered a new carb inlet rubber and hopefully that will do the trick.

I will definitely be back to you when i need more bits!

Incidentally, how many turns out should the mixture screw be?

I normally warm the bike up and screw in until it starts to falter and then wind out until the revs rise and the back in a 1/4 turn. Will that do the job?

there's an "ideal" which is 1.5 turns but in no way should you just dump it at 1.5 turns and leave. it is just a guide.

i just set to fastest idle and don't move even the 1/4 turn you speak of.

I also turn the screw in until it falters or stalls but that is to twig what is happening.

it is not unusual to have to do a PJ change with the Husabergs as they often run the Keihin 'E' needle and the correct PJ is more critical thabn with the 'D' needle.

regards

Taffy
