hi all

I bought for my engine a 98-00 cam chain tensioner, but my bike is a 99 fe 400 and i discovered that has a 97 , 400 engine...... . Can i put the cam chain tensioner that i bought or i have to buy the one from that year?

the engine does not have a cam chain quide , from factory, but i also bought one 98-00 model . Can I drill a hole in the crankcase and put it inside the engine, or leave it like it is? let`s say upgrading it.

thanks !

regards!

hello, i was in romania a couple of weeks ago at ploiesti for professional reasons, i loved the enduro landscapes i saw there!

now regarding your engine i am a bit confused, if possible post some pics of bike and engine.

yes drill the hole immediatelly to put the chain guide, after seeing the marks that your cam chain has already left on the cylinder head you will realise its vital.

as for the tensioner 1989-2000 motors use the same one.

do you have a dealer in your country?

the chain tensioner is from 89-97, and from 98-00, from what i have seen from the parts catalog from different years, example look at this site: http://www.neubert-racing.com/frameset.asp
that is a 97 engine.
i`ll put the 99 chain tensioner that i already bought and also i will drill a hole for the chain guide.
i`ll put some pics latter when i will assemble my engine. thx for the advice.
the enduro landscape is one of best here, i`m sure that you have heard of redbull romaniacs! I live in the town that is the "bivuac" let`s say for the raiders at this hard enduro rally.
