I was looking in your gallery and say what you describe as a carbon fibre tank that was a prototype. You got that off E bay? Do you know who the manfacture is? Did they make any more and do they make a big one.

You know the more I think about it the hardest part is making the inside and bottom of the tank. The outside can just be formed to give more capacity or less into a shape that wouldnt be too bad.

Can you tell I NEED a bigger tank. The only thing that is keeping me from doing the Trans America Trail is fuel. I need at least a 200 mile range so that is a 3.5-4 gallon main and the underseat tank. If something dont come up soon AI will try and buy a tank from Omerto but it is only 15 liters so Im still a bit shy

The other thing I need to figgure out is how to increase the oil capicity. I will be going at least 300 miles a day and would like to be able to do at least 2 days between oil changes. but that can be overcome even if it means changing every day.

I saw this oil cooler made for KTM, maybe one of our experts could tell us if it would work or not.

I can't seem to find the link but I have seen 1 manufacturer who sells piggy back tanks that fit on the rear fender.
I'll keep looking.

My tank was, as you said, the prototype. Unfortunately it got smashed when I crashed in a race in the swe champs at my home track. Tank and seat flew away from the bike and well... the tank did not like the asphalt so much. Will try to fix it though.
Anyway... the tank was to be sold by what I think is the biggest Berg dealer in Germany, Schleenbecker. Don't know if they ever made it into the market. Try to contact them.

I'm looking at getting a carbon fibre tank made, was doing a job for a guy who works for carbon composites over here in Oz and he's making mostly stuff to go on the race cars, I explained what I wanted and he reckoned no problems I have an old 04 tank he's going to use for a mould. I asked about thinner between the legs which he said would be harder than adding size to the tank. If you were going to get a larger tank made where would be the best place for the extra size? Wider at the front or taller. Let me know and I'll ask the question next time I'm up there. Will be back up there in 2 weeks.
